A few notes about summer bulbs...
1. Plant when the soil warms up or start inside in a pot. They will not grow in cool soil.

2. All of these bulbs grow spendidly in our hot, humid St. Louis summers. They are not winter hardy. Treat as a tender perennial and lift prior to the first frost and store in a cool dry area such as a basement.

3. Dahlias – Plant roots so that the crown is just above the soil surface. After shoot growth is visable, fertilize heavily (2-3 times per week). Pinch developing shoots to promote bushier plants and more flowers. Bloom time 9-12 weeks
